Instructional Designer
Status: Full Time
Location: La Plata, MD
Description:
Identify training requirements; developing, constructing, and evaluating instructional design. Work in both platform and electronic delivery of mediums.
Requirements:
- Education/Training/Certification/Licensure:
BA/BS Degree. Three to five years experience - Special Equipment/Skills:
General office equipment and personal computers. Hold a Secret Security Clearance.
Essential Position Functions:
- Identify training requirements by reviewing content, conferring with trainers, managers, and employees; analyzing the audience and studying required client outcomes.
- Follow standards and guidelines as well as develop standards and conventions for training products.
- Develop instructional design by researching and evaluating learning technologies and methods; evaluating and selecting instructional approaches.
- Construct instructional materials by creating and assembling materials, aids, references, and resources.
- Maintains instructional budget by evaluating cost-benefit of instructional approaches; selecting approaches within cost criteria.
- Supports trainers by explaining and interpreting instructional design; providing coaching.
- Prepares managers and employees by presenting training programs.
- Knowledge of the ISD model and adult learning.
- Knowledge of SCORM and LMS for integrated CBT/IETM work and training using S1000D.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
- Work with Program and Project Managers to develop project plans, scheduling and training.
- Knowledge of DOD training standards and Learning Management System Requirements.
- Adhere to all security protocols and informs the FSO if there is a breach of confidentiality.
- Performs all other required tasks.
