Vice President of Operations


Reports to: Executive Vice President

Status: Full Time

Location: South Plainfield, NJ

Description:

The Director, Operations will play a critical role working closely with the Executive Vice President to improve and reengineer the organizational effectiveness to develop business strategies, client relationships, staff management, and optimize delivery of quality products and services within cost and schedule.

Requirements:

  • Education/Training/Certification/Licensure:
    BA/BS degree in related field. Master’s degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ten (10) or more years experience in a supervisory or management capacity. DoD experience required.
  • Special Equipment/Skills:
    - General office equipment and personal computers.
    - Hold a Secret Security Clearance.
    - Familiarity with US Military and Government business practices.

Essential Position Functions:

  • Directs the organization and performance of functional areas within SDI Government Solutions and the activities of senior managers. Provides staff direction and understanding of established company policies and assists in developing new policies and procedures.
  • Oversees business activities to ensure a high standard of professional excellence is maintained among staff members.
  • Directs business functions including approval of overall project plan, budgets, and work breakdown structure.
  • Establishes and implements short- and long-term strategies to deliver services to customers within reasonable schedules and budgets.
  • Establishes and communicates goals and objectives, defines methodologies, tasks, and activities, and clearly describes roles and responsibilities for performing to personnel.
  • Communicates broadly to help ensure overall coordination for cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication skills needed to interface with high-level customer representatives.
  • Strong strategic management and planning skills.
  • Ability to publicly represent company with internal and external clients.
  • Ability to use own judgment and initiative in problem resolution.
  • Adhere to all security protocols and inform the FSO if there is a breach of confidentiality.
  • Performs all other required tasks.
